Mission
Role The Project Manager exists to own the quality of every roof that leaves with our name on it, the experience the homeowner has getting there, and the margin the job was sold at.
[Your Business Name] is a growing roofing company in [Your Location]. We scale by making each job repeatable and each crew better — not by adding chaos and hoping someone absorbs it. The challenge in this role is not running more roofs. The challenge is running each one well enough that the homeowner tells their neighbour, and doing that consistently across several jobs at once.
This is a hands-on role. You'll be on roofs, in attics, and standing in front of homeowners — not managing from the truck. You'll hold the standard yourself and raise the crews working under you at the same time.
You report to [the owner] and work alongside the admin team and the sales side to keep the schedule honest and the pipeline moving.
Responsibilities
- Own the roofs assigned to you from first walkthrough to final handshake — the plan, the crew, the schedule, the quality, and the close-out.
- Run the homeowner relationship so nobody is ever wondering what's happening on their house: expectations set before work starts, updates while it's running, and a final walkthrough that ends in a yes.
- Hold the quality line on every job. Every roof goes out the way it's supposed to, whether or not anyone is checking.
- Protect the margin the job was sold at — track costs, catch scope creep early, and write up change orders properly when the work genuinely moves.
- Collect payment and ask for the review while you're still standing there, and turn finished roofs into the next ones through the neighbourhood around them.
- Raise the crews and subcontractors you work with — onboard new people, correct what needs correcting, and leave every crew sharper than you found them.
Requirements
- Proven ownership of multiple projects running at once,
with a track record of finishing them on time and to standard rather than finishing them at all costs.
- Experience running crews or subcontractors — including the part where you have to tell someone their work isn't good enough and have them come back the next day anyway.
- Comfortable on a roof and in an attic, and able to explain what you found up there to a homeowner who has never been on one.
- Demonstrated ability to handle an unhappy customer and turn it around — not avoid it, escalate it, or wait for it to resolve itself.
- Enough commercial sense to know when a job is drifting and to do something about it before the month closes.
- Roofing or trades background preferred. Valid driver's licence, reliable vehicle, and legally able to work in [country]. We'll take the right person over the right résumé.
Results This is what the job looks like when it's being done well. You'll be measured on these, and you'll always know where you stand.
- Roofs finish on the date the homeowner was given — not roughly when we said. [X]% of jobs complete on the committed date.
- Completed roofs consistently turn into five-star reviews, and a real share of them mention you by name.
- Jobs land at or above the margin they were sold at, with costs tracked and every change order documented before the work happens.
- Homeowners never have to chase you for an update. They hear from you first, every time, including when the news isn't good.
- Callbacks stay under [X]%, and the ones that do happen are resolved before the homeowner has to ask twice.
- The crews you run need less correction each month,
because working with you makes them better — not just busier.
- The neighbourhoods around your finished jobs produce new work.
- Your capacity grows through better systems and better crews — not longer days.
Schedule
- [Days / hours], with the flexibility roofing demands — weather moves, installs run long, and homeowners need answers.
Location
- On site across [Your Location and service area].
Compensation
- Base of $[3,000 – 4,000] per month, plus a percentage of the revenue on every roof you complete.
- A normal month lands around $[6,500]. A strong month lands around $[8,000]. That's roughly $[48,000] – $[96,000] a year.
- You'll get the exact formula on day one, so you can calculate your own cheque every month. No guessing.
- Additional commission on upsells you close on site, five-star reviews that name you, and referrals that turn into signed roofs.
Final compensation depends on experience and the size of the jobs you run. The range above reflects base plus commission, not benefits.
Benefits
- [Paid time off and company holidays]
- [Extended health, dental, and vision coverage]
- [Vehicle or fuel allowance]
- [Phone and tablet provided]
- [Tools, safety gear, and branded apparel]
- [Paid training and certifications]
- A defined path forward: Project Manager → Senior Project Manager → Area Manager → Regional Manager. Area Managers run a team and earn an override on everything that team completes.
Benefits eligibility applies to full-time roles.
