$30.00–$36.00 per hour, based on experience
TechElectric Automation is an industrial electrical and automation contractor serving customers throughout Southern Ontario.
We are looking for a Purchaser to take ownership of material sourcing, supplier pricing, purchasing and receiving for our projects and service work.
Experience working with an electrical distributor, electrical contractor or industrial supplier would be especially valuable in this role.
This is a hands-on position working closely with our General Manager, project managers and field technicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and purchase electrical, automation and industrial materials.
- Obtain and compare supplier pricing, availability and lead times, and negotiate the best overall value.
- Create, issue and track purchase orders and ensure purchases are assigned to the correct project or work order.
- Obtain material and equipment pricing to support project estimates.
- Expedite backorders and urgent material requirements.
- Coordinate deliveries and receive incoming materials.
- Handle returns, credits and incorrect shipments.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships and identify alternate sources when required.
Successful Candidates Will Bring
- 2–3 years of purchasing, buying, electrical distribution,
industrial supply or related experience preferred.
- Electrical or industrial product knowledge is a strong asset.
- Strong organization, follow-up and attention to detail.
- Confidence communicating and negotiating with suppliers.
- Ability to manage multiple orders and changing priorities.
- Good Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills.
- Valid Ontario driver's licence is required.
Formal purchasing or supply-chain education is not required. Practical industry experience and product knowledge will be strongly considered.
