Position Summary The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing inspection and quality control activities to ensure that incoming materials, components, in-process work, repaired and overhauled components, and finished products conform to applicable drawings, specifications, technical manuals, work instructions, customer requirements, and the Company's Quality Management System.

The Quality Inspector works closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality personnel to identify and prevent quality issues, maintain accurate inspection records, and ensure products are released in accordance with established requirements.

This role requires a high level of attention to detail, technical understanding, and the ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation within an aerospace and defense manufacturing and repair environment.

Key Accountabilities

- Perform incoming, in-process, final, and receiving inspections of components, materials, assemblies, subassemblies, and associated equipment.
- Verify product conformity to engineering drawings, specifications, technical manuals, work instructions, inspection plans, and customer requirements.
- Inspect electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and fluid components and assemblies as required.
- Identify, document, and communicate non-conformances, defects, and deviations in a timely manner.




- Ensure inspection activities and records comply with the Company's Quality Management System and applicable customer and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate and complete inspection documentation, including inspection reports, test records, strip sheets, and other quality records.
- Perform plant-wide surveillance inspections, shelf-life inspections, and quality reviews as assigned.
- Support investigations of quality issues by reviewing inspection results, test records, production documentation, and other relevant data.
- Ensure inspection equipment and measuring tools are properly identified, maintained, and within calibration before use.
- Work closely with Production and Engineering to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote a culture of quality, accountability, and safety.

Responsibilities

- Perform dimensional, visual, functional, and other inspections using appropriate inspection equipment and established procedures.
- Use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, height gauges, and other inspection tools as required.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, technical manuals, schematics, and other technical data.
- Verify material and component certifications, identification, traceability, and documentation as required.
- Review work orders, inspection plans, repair/overhaul documentation, and associated records for completeness and conformity.
- Conduct quality control investigations using inspection equipment, test results, strip sheets, historical records, and other available data.
- Assist with the identification and documentation of non-conforming material and products.
- Support the Quality Manager with internal audits, customer audits, and other quality-related activities as required.




- Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action activities when requested.
- Maintain inspection records and ensure quality documentation is complete, accurate, and properly retained.
- Communicate inspection results and quality concerns clearly to Production, Engineering, and Quality personnel.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inspection area and follow all company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other quality-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

- Technical diploma or post-secondary education in quality, manufacturing, mechanical, aerospace, or a related field is required.
- 5-10 years of experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing, repair, overhaul, or precision machining environment.
- Aerospace or defense industry experience is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, technical manuals, and related technical documentation.
- Working knowledge of inspection methods, quality control procedures, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency using precision measuring and inspection equipment.
- Experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality systems is required.
- Knowledge of GD&T;, measurement techniques, and inspection principles is an asset.
- Experience with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or fluid components is an asset.
- Ability to accurately complete inspection reports and maintain detailed quality records.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic quality/ERP systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects and deviations from requirements.
- Good problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams.
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, bending, and handling components and inspection equipment as required.

Work Schedule: Regular business hours (Monday–Friday), on-site

Salary range: $43.74 per hour — Unionized Environment
