ABOUT CENTRAL PHYSIOTHERAPY & MASSAGE
Central Physiotherapy & Massage is a busy, modern multidisciplinary clinic serving Camrose and the surrounding communities. Our collaborative team includes physiotherapists, chiropractors, registered massage therapists, a manual osteopath, an acupuncturist, an occupational therapist and a psychologist.
We provide a supportive environment where clinicians can build a strong caseload while working alongside other healthcare professionals. Our clinic is equipped with modern rehabilitation technology, including Health Canada- and FDA-approved shockwave and laser therapy equipment, spinal decompression and traction equipment, and private treatment rooms.
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a Registered Physiotherapist to join our growing multidisciplinary team. The successful applicant will assess and treat patients with musculoskeletal, neurological and functional conditions while developing individualized, evidence-informed rehabilitation programs.
The position is permanent and full-time, with a flexible start date and scheduling options.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assess patients’ physical abilities, functional limitations and rehabilitation needs
- Examine patients and administer appropriate evaluative and diagnostic tests
- Establish clinical diagnoses within the physiotherapist’s authorized scope of practice
- Develop and implement individualized physiotherapy treatment programs
- Select and provide appropriate therapeutic exercises, manual techniques, modalities and rehabilitation interventions
- Educate patients about their conditions, treatment plans, injury prevention and home exercise programs
- Teach,
demonstrate and supervise exercises performed by patients
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment programs as clinically appropriate
- Maintain accurate clinical, treatment and progress reports
- Communicate and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals
- Supervise physiotherapy assistants and other technical or support staff, when required
- Follow all applicable qualified, privacy, safety and infection-control standards
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in physiotherapy
- Eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta
- Successful completion of all applicable Canadian physiotherapy competency and regulatory requirements
- Professional liability insurance as required by the regulatory college
- Experience is an asset; qualified new graduates are welcome to apply
- Strong clinical reasoning, communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
