Taber Special Needs Society has been operating for 30+ years providing accredited supports as a not-for-profit charitable society in the community of Taber and the surrounding area for youth and adults with developmental disabilities.

Taber Special Needs Society is seeking an organized, motivated and dependable individual to join our management team as a Residential Coordinator.

The Residential Coordinator provides leadership and oversight to our residential services supporting adults with developmental disabilities. This position works closely with Team Leaders and frontline staff to ensure services are safe, consistent, person-centred and responsive to the individual needs of the people we support.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide leadership, supervision and direction to Residential Team Leaders
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of assigned residential programs
- Support Team Leaders with staffing, scheduling and operational concerns
- Promote high-quality, person-centred services
- Ensure individual support plans, documentation and organizational procedures are followed
- Assist with employee performance, coaching and development
- Respond to operational issues and provide leadership in problem-solving and decision-making
- Participate in an on-call rotation, including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Work collaboratively with families, guardians, professionals, funders and community partners
- Maintain accurate records, reports and electronic documentation
- Support compliance with organizational policies, accreditation standards and health and safety requirements

Education, Qualifications and Skills




- Post-secondary education in Human Services, Disability Studies, Social Work, Business Administration, Management, or a related field is preferred
- A combination of relevant education, training and experience will also be considered
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to support, coach and guide others
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational, time-management and problem-solving abilities
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with common workplace software and electronic documentation systems
- Ability and willingness to learn new software and technology
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment
- Sound judgment and effective decision-making skills
- Willingness to learn and grow within a management role
- Commitment to person-centred services and supporting adults with developmental disabilities to participate and belong in their community
- 18 years of age or older
- Clear Criminal record Check including the vulnerable sector check
- Valid class 5 driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle with proof of $2 million third party liability insurance listing applicant as the primary driver.
