A Respite Care Worker provides temporary relief and support to primary caregivers by delivering care and supervision to children/youth residing in a therapeutic care home. Their responsibilities include ensuring the physical, emotional, and social well-being of residents, following individualized care plans, assisting with daily living activities, implementing therapeutic strategies under guidance, and maintaining a secure and supportive environment.

Respite workers play a vital role in supporting functional families by providing children with the opportunity to build a positive relationship with another caring adult who can engage with them, play, and introduce new learning experiences. Respite workers will be responsible to work directly with one or two children in the Therapeutic Care home, with ages varying depending on the needs of the program.
