Responsibilities

- Provide expert knowledge of information management bestpractices, approaches and trends as it relates to structured and unstructuredinformation in support of Ministry and Cluster clients.
- Thorough knowledge of the information lifecycle to providepractical information analysis, expertise and advice.

General Skills: Experience in

- assessing and conducting business analyses to establishinformation management needs pertaining to different domains of informationmanagement (i.e., recordkeeping, access and privacy, etc.) - developing business cases pertaining to informationmanagement; - leading and/or coordinating information management-relatedinitiatives; - providing advice, guidance and support for informationmanagement-related initiatives; - developing document management protocols, guidelines andbest practices (e.g. business rules, naming conventions, version control,document labelling, etc.); - developing business and records classification schemes usingfunctional classification; - assessing metadata requirements and developing metadataschema, standards, and management protocols; - assessing training and awareness needs, developing curriculaand communications plans, and delivering training pertaining to informationmanagement awareness, concepts and principles to diverse audiences; - providing routine advice and guidance on informationmanagement concepts and principles - identifying Information Security and Privacy Classificationrequirements and their implementation in unstructured data applications; - collaborating with business analysts, business architects,business intelligence specialists, data architects, data conversionspecialists, database administrators, information architects, project managers,training specialists, web specialists and any other individuals as required; - relationship management between ministry clients and the OPSI⁢ organization; - supporting business and information architecture in defininginformation management needs and priorities; - participating in information management-related committees,working groups, etc.; - developing and tracking information management performancemeasures; - research and analysis skills as they pertain to informationmanagement-related environmental/jurisdictional scans,



business and informationarchitecture, legislation and policy documentation, business process mapping,maturity assessments, etc.; - planning and implementation of information managementstrategic goals and priorities; - able to lead or support the development of a privacy impactassessment (PIA) - Knowledge of and experience in applying recognized nationaland international standards in recordkeeping and information management; - Knowledge of methodologies, standards and principles offunction-based classification of information; - Knowledge of controlled vocabularies including taxonomiesand thesauri; - A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines.

Desirable Skills

- Experience in developing business and records classificationschemes using functional classification - Knowledge of Enterprise Content Management/Records andDocument Management solutions Requirements Experience and Skill Set Requirements Information Management Expertise (40%) - Demonstrates knowledge of information management,information governance, records management, records retention, disposition, andinformation lifecycle management.
- Demonstrates knowledge of information architecture, metadatamanagement, taxonomy development, classification structures, and contentmanagement practices.
- Demonstrates knowledge of information management bestpractices, standards, methodologies, and emerging trends related to structuredand unstructured information.
- Demonstrates experience supporting information managementmodernization, digitization, and records conversion initiatives.
- Demonstrates experience conducting information inventories,records assessments, information classification, and data quality improvementactivities.
- Demonstrates knowledge of information governancerequirements, privacy legislation (FIPPA), accessibility requirements (AODA),and applicable OPS standards.



Technical and Analytical Skills (30%) - Demonstrates experience analyzing business requirements andtranslating them into information management solutions.
- Demonstrates experience developing information managementframeworks, metadata models, classification schemes, retention schedules, andgovernance processes.
- Demonstrates experience supporting digitization, migration,and modernization of legacy records, documents, and repositories.
- Demonstrates ability to assess information management risks,identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
- Demonstrates experience working with document management,records management, case management, enterprise content management, or relatedinformation management solutions. Communication and Stakeholder Management Skills (25%) - Demonstrates solid verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates experience facilitating workshops, interviews,and discussions with business stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
- Demonstrates ability to prepare information managementstrategies, reports, recommendations, guidance materials, and businessdocumentation.
- Demonstrates ability to communicate information managementconcepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrates ability to collaborate effectively with projectteams, business stakeholders, records management specialists, businessanalysts, and technical resources.

Public Sector

Experience (5%) - Demonstrates experience working within public-sectorinformation management and governance environments.

- Demonstrates knowledge of OPS policies, privacyrequirements, accessibility requirements, records management standards, andinformation governance practices.
- Demonstrates experience supporting information management,digitization, modernization, records management, or digital transformationinitiatives in government or broader public-sector organizations.

Must Have

- Demonstrates knowledge of information architecture, metadatamanagement, taxonomy development, classification structures, and contentmanagement practices.
- Demonstrates experience supporting digitization, migration,and modernization of legacy records, documents, and repositories.
