Role Description The Sand Blaster is a full-time, on-site position based at our facility in Sturgeon County, AB. This role is responsible for preparing surfaces through abrasive blasting, including cleaning, removing rust, and profiling metal and other substrates according to job specifications. Day-to-day tasks include setting up blasting equipment, selecting appropriate media, operating blasting machinery safely, and inspecting surfaces to ensure proper preparation before coating.

Blaster will work closely with coating applicators and inspectors, follow safety protocols and PPE requirements, and maintain a clean,



organized work area. The role also involves basic equipment maintenance, adherence to production schedules, and accurate completion of job documentation.

Qualifications

- Experience with abrasive blasting operations, including surface preparation, media selection, and equipment setup and use.
- Knowledge of industrial coating processes and the ability to collaborate effectively with coating applicators and inspectors.
- Robust understanding of workplace safety practices, including PPE use, hazard recognition, and safe handling of blasting equipment and materials.
- Ability to read and follow work orders, technical instructions, and basic drawings or specifications.
- Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks, stand for extended periods, and work in industrial environments.
- Attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to maintaining quality standards and meeting project timelines.
- Prior experience in industrial coatings, construction, or a related trade is an asset; AMPP or similar industry training is considered an advantage.
- Willingness to work on-site full time in Sturgeon County, AB, and to participate in ongoing training and skills development.
