Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable Sanitation Crew Member to help maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary food processing facility. This role cleans and sanitizes production equipment, work areas, and facility surfaces according to established procedures to support food safety and production readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize processing equipment, conveyors, utensils, floors, drains, walls, and other designated areas.
- Follow sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOPs), cleaning schedules, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Prepare and use cleaning chemicals at approved concentrations, following product labels, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and company procedures.
- Use hoses, foamers, scrubbers, and other sanitation tools safely and correctly.
- Disassemble and reassemble designated equipment only when trained and authorized, following required equipment isolation and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Remove waste and handle recycling and inedible materials according to plant procedures.
- Follow allergen control and cross-contamination prevention procedures.
- Inspect cleaned areas and report residue, equipment damage, pest activity, or other sanitation concerns.
- Complete cleaning records and chemical concentration checks accurately.
- Support pre-operational inspections and repeat cleaning when required.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
and follow workplace safety procedures.
- Work with production, maintenance, and quality assurance teams to complete sanitation activities on schedule.
Qualifications
- Previous sanitation, industrial cleaning, or food processing experience is an asset; training will be provided.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal safety and sanitation instructions.
- Basic measurement and recordkeeping skills.
- Solid attention to detail and a reliable attendance record.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Availability for the assigned shift, including weekends or overtime when required.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Work in wet, humid, cold, or warm areas with noise and exposure to approved cleaning chemicals.
- Stand and walk for extended periods, and perform repetitive bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
- Lift and move materials weighing up to , using assistance or lifting aids when required.
- Wear required PPE, which may include waterproof clothing, gloves, safety footwear, eye protection, and hearing protection.
- Perform the essential duties of the role with reasonable accommodation where applicable.
Pay: $24.00-$26.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 per week
