Senior Residential Cleaning Specialist — Independent Contractor
Pearly’s Cleaning Co. | Victoria, BC
$25–$35/hour | Approximately 15–30 hours per week
Pearly’s Cleaning Co. is looking for an experienced, dependable residential cleaner who can deliver professional results without being taught the basics.
This is not an entry-level position. You must already know how to properly vacuum, mop, clean kitchens and bathrooms, follow a checklist, notice missed details and complete cleans within the allotted time.
What You Can Expect From Us
We work hard to create a positive, respectful culture where reliable professionals feel valued. You can expect:
- Clear expectations and open communication
- Organized client information and cleaning checklists
- A supportive environment when questions or concerns arise
- Respect and appreciation for excellent work
- Optional staff and team events
- Opportunities for additional assignments when you demonstrate consistent quality and reliability
We understand that strong working relationships go both ways. If you communicate clearly, show up reliably and take pride in your work, you will receive the same consideration and support from us.
Requirements
- At least one year of professional residential cleaning or hotel-housekeeping experience
- Reliable personal vehicle, valid driver’s licence and vehicle insurance
- Commercial liability insurance and appropriate WorkSafeBC status
- Strong punctuality and communication
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Recent professional reference
- Consistent weekday availability
Cleaning is physically demanding. You must be able to safely remain active for several hours; repeatedly bend, kneel,
reach and lift; carry a 15-pound vacuum and filled mop bucket; and transport equipment up and down stairs, with or without reasonable accommodation. Skilled attire is required: a clean T-shirt, opaque work pants or knee-length shorts, and closed-toe non-slip shoes. The torso and undergarments must remain covered while bending, kneeling and reaching.
Paid Skills Assessment
Qualified applicants must pass a paid practical cleaning assessment before receiving client assignments. This will evaluate vacuuming, mopping, bathroom and kitchen cleaning, attention to detail, speed and checklist completion.
The assessment verifies existing professional ability—it is not basic cleaning training.
How Scheduling Works
Contractors will begin with a limited number of assignments while we confirm cleaning quality, efficiency, reliability and communication. A full schedule will not be provided immediately.
Additional assignments will be offered as you demonstrate that you can arrive on time, follow the service checklist, complete cleans within the allotted time and consistently deliver high-quality results. Contractors who prove themselves can build toward approximately 30–40 hours per week, depending on client demand and availability.
