Our energy and resources client is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Operations lead to assist with VMWare production environments, Including backup and disaster recovery ownership and M365 and Azure Active Directory Administration

Calgary based role - Candidates will be in-office in downtown Calgary 5 days/week to start, then move to 4 days/week (This will be a contract-to-hire role)

Must Haves

- 7+ years of experience as an Infrastructure Analyst or Infrastructure Lead focusing on IT Operations with project ownership (not just support)
- Hands-on administration of VMware virtualization environments at production scale
- Administration of AWS workloads and Microsoft 365 / Azure AD environments
- Ownership of Backup and Disaster Recovery platforms including Veeam
- Vendor management, contract management, and enterprise network operations with Fortinet or Palo Alto platforms

Strong Nice to Haves

- Oil & gas, engineering,



or technical consulting industry background
- Familiarity with Dell EMC Avamar / Data Domain and NetBackup
- Fortinet NSE certification
- Experience operating within a lean IT team setting
- Exposure to AI platform deployment or digital tooling rollout initiatives

Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day operational health of on-premises infrastructure, AWS workloads, and Microsoft Cloud services
- Lead infrastructure projects from scoping and vendor engagement through implementation, testing, and acceptance
- Operate network infrastructure including Fortinet firewall and switching environments
- Administer backup and disaster recovery operations across Veeam, Dell EMC Avamar / Data Domain, and NetBackup environments
- Manage user access, identity administration, software access, and security policy enforcement
- Maintain vendor relationships, procurement support activities, and SLA tracking
- Build and maintain runbooks, architecture diagrams, and procedural documentation
