Description
This is a temporary contract position for an existing vacancy.
The Project Manager, Telecom will manage complex telecom centered projects over the full project life cycle including providing leadership, guidance, and technical expertise in the management of projects and personnel.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in formal project management principles, guiding projects and personnel through the entire lifecycle, from planning to completion.
Key Accountabilities:
- Develop and manage all aspects of the Telecom Projects as assigned using project management methodologies and industry best practices.
- Manage and maintain through MS Project Plans, RACI, RAID for issues, track risk mitigation.
- Negotiate and manage project deliverables, schedules, timelines, and costs from concept to deployment and business readiness.
- Communicate to all stakeholders on project progress against designed plan, requirements, quality measures, compliance with processes, highlight risks and issues, drive resolution and escalate when required to resolve issues, variances and develop actions plans to manage changes or issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Engineering, Procurement, Order Management, Build, Operations, and Incident management to align on project timelines & deliverables.
- Strong understanding/knowledge of the Telecom Industry and/Infrastructure business including Dark Fibre, SD WAN, MPLS, Low Earth Orbit Access (Starlink), DIA, Broadband etc.
- Experience in responding RFPs and RFQs.
- Create and obtain approval on business plans and business cases to support your specific project.
- Accountable for budget tracking and reporting for individual projects.
- Responsible for contract negotiations and contract management with external third parties
- Manage vendor and external resource deliverables, commitments, and communication.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Strong business acumen must include experience in preparing business cases for revenue opportunities and network development projects.
- Displaying effective organization skills, managing multiple and competing priorities and mentoring others to improve these skills.
- Proposing solutions to manage client expectations and managing the delivery of the solution.
- Requires thorough and demonstrated knowledge of project management and methodologies to deliver on time, on budget, on spec for telecommunications focused projects.
- Requires experience in all aspects of telecommunications and information management in a telecommunications environment.
- Knowledge of telecom related engineering and computer applications of equipment and data base management systems.
- Ability to lead and direct cross functional departments and resources toward business and project objectives.
- Past telecom or inside and outside plant design or construction experience an asset.
- Experience with project delivery involving a variety of resources from working level to Director level.
- Ability to manipulate and analyze data to draw appropriate conclusions.
- Sharp attention to detail with the ability to spot inconsistencies and troubleshoot potential issues.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to manage relationships in a fast-paced environment, while demonstrating persistence and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to translate complex data into manageable and helpful insights.
- Professionalism, positive attitude, and the ability to work well with diverse perspectives are keys to success in this position.
- Ability to lead multiple work streams or project teams to execute against an existing program.
- Creates a detailed work plan, identifying and sequencing activities needed to successfully complete the project.
- Experienced in Water-fall and Agile framework.
- Proficiency in agile methodology, techniques, and frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
- Lead, build, champion and drive the cultural adoption of agile-based delivery across the organization.
- Ensures that roles and responsibilities (internal and external) are clarified and understood.
Knowledge requirements:
- 10+ years of related experience in Project Management.
- PMP certification is considered an asset.
- Certifies Scrum Master, SAFe considered an asset.
- Enhanced Management Framework for the management of IT and Telecommunications projects
- Project management concepts, techniques, methods and tools and industry best practices in the management concepts, techniques, methods and tools and industry best practices in the management of projects in an IT environment
- Experience with MSFT teams, Office 365, MS Project, MS Visio, Azure DevOps
- Project estimating and planning techniques
- Project progress monitoring
- Management of change, risk, and problem
This is a hybrid role requiring the contractor to be on site at least 2 days per week (Monday, Wednesday) at the Acronym office.
Pay Rate Range
Min Pay Rate: $70
Max Pay Rate: $90
Currency: CAD
Unit: hourly
