ABOUT ARETEK

Printerra Inc. (operating as Aretek) is a contech company advancing Additive Construction (AC), also referred to as large format 3D printing or 3D Construction Printing (3DCP). We have built a platform for the adoption of AC, including engineering and design services, our Additive Construction Reinforced Wall Systems (ACRWS), mix design and materials supply, printers and print crews, QA and QC, workforce training and R&D.; The first proof of concept projects delivered on that platform are in progress now.

Aretek holds a Certificate of Authorization from Professional Engineers Ontario, participates in international AC standards development, and conducts applied research with six Canadian universities.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Aretek is seeking a senior structural engineering manager to lead its engineering function and serve as a responsible licence holder under Aretek's PEO Certificate of Authorization. The role spans the full technical range of that work, from design and testing through permitting, construction and applied research. Aretek's R&D; Lead reports to you, and Aretek's external engineers, architects, materials specialists and laboratories work under your oversight.

You would continue our work to establish a repeatable permit pathway for AC through alternative solution submissions, standards development and the engineering substantiation needed to support them. Joining now means arriving as Aretek's R&D; programs come to fruition in its first proof of concept projects and the platform goes to market.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

Engineering leadership and professional practice

- Manage Aretek's day-to-day engineering function, translating priorities agreed with Aretek's leadership team into work plans, technical deliverables, resourcing recommendations and engineering standards, in coordination with Aretek's R&D; Lead.
- Serve as a responsible licence holder under Aretek's PEO Certificate of Authorization and maintain appropriate professional practice, review, supervision, documentation and quality control processes.
- Exercise sound professional judgment regarding work requiring review, approval, sealing or escalation.
- Scope, contract and oversee the technical delivery of external structural engineers, architects, materials specialists, laboratories and student researchers.
- Identify capability and resourcing gaps, and support hiring and onboarding as the team grows.

R&D;, design and technical development
- In partnership with Aretek's leadership team, maintain a focused technical R&D; roadmap aligned with commercial priorities, regulatory commitments and available resources.
- Lead the technical completion, validation and transition to use of Aretek's engineered additive construction systems, preserving the design basis, evidence, limitations and remaining development requirements for each.
- Coordinate the engineering work required across Aretek's established R&D; programs, including structural, materials, building envelope, automation and constructability considerations.
- Translate design intent into printable, code compliant details and specifications, working with architects and designers on constructability.
- Support Aretek's intellectual property strategy, including identifying patentable developments, maintaining invention and testing records, and coordinating with external patent counsel.
- Recommend changes to R&D; priorities when testing, project experience, regulatory feedback or technical risk indicates that the approved plan should be adjusted.

Projects, permitting and quality
- Lead the engineering work on Aretek's additive construction projects, including its initial proof of concept builds, from early feasibility and design through permitting, execution, quality assurance and post-project learning.

- Develop building code compliance strategies, alternative solution submissions and technical justifications, and represent Aretek in discussions with authorities having jurisdiction.
- Provide engineering support to construction operations during printing and installation, including field review, resolution of technical issues on site, and capture of lessons back into design and specification.
- Maintain and improve engineering, QA and QC procedures appropriate to Aretek's structural systems, printing processes and project delivery model.
- Ensure clear technical coordination among engineering, design, construction operations, training, materials and external project partners.

Technical partnerships and communication
- Represent Aretek in technical discussions with clients, municipalities, regulators, academic institutions, laboratories, vendors and project partners, coordinating with Aretek's leadership team on commitments that affect strategy, funding or commercial terms.
- Provide technical assessments of proposed technologies, partnerships and market opportunities so Aretek's leadership team can make informed business and portfolio decisions.
- Communicate technical status, risks, decisions and resource needs clearly to Aretek's leadership team, project partners and non-technical stakeholders.

PRIORITIES IN THE FIRST 12 MONTHS
- Deliver Aretek's initial proof of concept projects through engineering, permitting, execution and post-project review.
- Complete an effective transfer of technical, project and professional practice knowledge during the onboarding period.
- Confirm clear engineering accountabilities, decision rights, review procedures and project controls under Aretek's PEO Certificate of Authorization.
- Advance the engineering, validation, permitting and delivery requirements for Aretek's engineered additive construction systems and established R&D; portfolio.
- Assess current and future capacity and recommend a practical internal versus external resourcing plan.
- With Aretek's leadership team, confirm the R&D; portfolio, completion criteria, technical roadmap and decision gates, and recommend any changes supported by engineering evidence.
