Alteo is seeking a Senior System Administrator for a permanent position based in Montreal. Hybrid work: 2 days in the office per week Within a well-established SME offering exciting challenges, you will be responsible for implementing best practices in IT infrastructure. You will have a significant impact by improving processes related to systems, networks, IT security, DevOps, vendor management, and team coaching. You are an experienced system/network administrator with excellent analytical skills, as well as a keen sense of organization and priority management.

Responsibilities

- Administer, secure, and monitor on-premises and cloud (Azure) network infrastructures
- Ensure the availability, performance, and security of environments
- Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and supervision tools
- Manage access, firewalls, VPNs, backups, and disaster recovery plans
- Administer cloud environments hosting web solutions and applications (Azure)
- Participate in the design, architecture, and evolution of cloud solutions




- Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of platforms
- Support and advise developers on DevOps best practices, with the help of an external partner Profile:
- DEC/BAC in IT or equivalent
- 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar role: systems/network administration
- Solid expertise in Microsoft environments and systems, networking, cloud, and security
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, and GitHub platforms (a plus)
- Knowledge of Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools (a plus)
- Understanding of challenges related to deploying SaaS solutions (a plus)
- Knowledge of monitoring tools (New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.) (a plus)
- Experience in highly available and mission-critical environments (a plus)
- Awareness of best practices in security, compliance, and governance (a plus)
- Natural leadership, positive attitude, and team spirit
- Ability to collaborate closely with development teams
- Ability to analyze and implement effective processes
- Independence, attention to detail, and a sense of responsibility
