THE ROLE The Military Family Services (MFS) Division supports the operational effectiveness of the Canadian Armed Forces by supporting military families to lead positive and nurturing family lives. They develop the programs, governance and services available through either the Department of National Defence (DND) funded Military Family Services Program, the Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) funded Veteran Family Program. The MFS Division includes the Support Our Troops Charitable fund and program that provides NPP funded activities, which includes providing financial assistance to promote family resiliency and supporting Veterans and serving members who may have an illness or injury through a variety of grants and programs.

Military Family Services is a key member of the executive leadership team of CFMWS and provides enterprise-wide leadership for the design, delivery, and continuous evolution of programs that support military and Veteran families. Reporting directly to the Managing Director Non-Public Property/Chief Executive Officer of Staff of the Non-Public Funds (SNPF), Canadian Forces (CF), and serving on the Executive Management Board, the Senior Vice President is responsible for shaping a national approach to family services that contributes directly to Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) operational readiness.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED The ideal candidate is an accomplished and credible executive leader with extensive experience in social services, community development, or a related field. The successful candidate brings a demonstrated ability to lead large-scale, complex programs within multi-stakeholder environments, translating strategic priorities into measurable outcomes. A consultative and collaborative leader, the individual is adept at building trusted relationships across government, military, and community partners, while also fostering high-performing internal teams. Possessing strong strategic, operational, and financial acumen, they are comfortable navigating governance frameworks that bridge public sector accountability and social enterprise models. A forward thinking and adaptable leader, they are highly skilled at leveraging research, data, and emerging trends to inform program design and service delivery. Sound judgment, strong communication skills,



bilingualism and a commitment to advancing the well-being of military families through creative and impactful services is essential. LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
