Job Summary

We are looking for a new server to join the wait staff at the Fort William Curling Club Kitchen (FWCCK)! Servers will wait tables, process payments, input orders, manage reservations, and ensure customer satisfaction while coordinating with the kitchen and other servers. Additional server responsibilities include cleaning, washing dishes, and taking phone calls for the front of house.

Hours are flexible and can be built around availability, but servers must be able to work weekends generally. Assets for this job include serving experience, POS sales experience, a friendly or kind personality, ability to work under pressure, cleanliness, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

- Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm to create a welcoming atmosphere
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Micros POS, ensuring clear communication with kitchen staff
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and sanitation
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and maximize sales opportunities
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties, while balancing registers at shift end
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in dining areas, adhering to food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed and support kitchen staff during busy periods




- Manage time effectively to serve multiple tables promptly without compromising quality or guest satisfaction
- Provide excellent guest services by addressing questions, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring overall satisfaction
- Follow all sanitation, health, and safety guidelines to uphold a secure dining environment for guests and staff

Skills

- Proficiency with POS systems for order entry and cashiering functions
- Previous food service or restaurant experience is highly preferred
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, positive attitude
- Knowledge of food handling, safety standards, and sanitation practices in the food industry
- Ability to manage time efficiently during busy service hours
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and billing procedures
- Experience with food preparation or kitchen operations is a plus
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members
- Hospitality mindset with a focus on guest satisfaction and upselling techniques
