Job Overview

We are a very busy automotive transmission repair shop located in Port Alberni since 2007. We are hiring a Service Advisor to handle the front end of the business for improved customer service to assess their vehicle needs, and guide them through the repair process with transparency and professionalism.

- Welcoming customers and discussing their needs
- Answering customer inquires, either in person or on the phone
- Develop repair estimates by taking the cost of materials, supplies, and labour into consideration;
- Prepare repair orders by detailing the vehicle’s problems or symptoms
- Schedule customer car repairs
- Coordinate with the automotive repair team to prioritize work orders and ensure timely completion of services
- Maintaining automotive records by keeping track of problems and corrective actions

Skills needed

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Robust customer service skills in order to handle customer complaints and questions effectively
- Critical thinking, organization, time management and problem-solving skills to perform their job successfully




- Knowledge of digital technology including the ability to use the internet and the appropriate software.
- Ability to interpret technical terms to the customers
- Tolerant and friendly and patience to cope with different customers’ personalities
- Decision-making skills
- Proficiency with Shop monkey software would be a valuable asset
- Analytical thinking

Experience

- Previous experience or familiarity with automotive service processes is highly preferred
- Hands-on mechanic experience or strong mechanical knowledge to confidently discuss vehicle repairs and maintenance options
- Proven customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with diverse clients
- Ability to handle payment transactions accurately while maintaining professionalism under pressure
- Knowledge of automotive repair procedures, parts, and technical terminology enhances your effectiveness in this role

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
