The opportunity:

FXR, the global leader in snowmobile and motocross apparel and protective equipment is seeking a skilled industrial sewing machine operator at our head office in Oak Bluff, MB. FXR's in-house production department is a small, close knit team of skilled individuals who work collaboratively in support of FXR's design and product development team in the creation of FXR's high performance, quality power sports products. FXR offers an excellent work environment that is clean, well-lit and equipped with high quality equipment.

The Sewing & Print Production Assistant supports the day-to-day operations of our sewing room and print production room. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a basic sewing background who enjoys variety, attention to detail, and the satisfaction of seeing a custom order through from start to finish.

Responsibilities

Sewing Room Support

- Assist sewing machine operators with material preparation, including cutting fabric and components to specification
- Prep and organize materials, hardware, and trims ahead of production runs
- Perform basic sewing tasks and repairs as directed by the Sewing Room Supervisor
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

Print Production Room Support

- Assist with prepping garments and materials for print processes
- Support production staff with staging, sorting, and quality checking finished pieces




- Help maintain workflow and organization within the print production area

Custom Order Shipping

- Review custom orders in Shopify and verify that finished physical products match order details (size, colour, customization, quantity)
- Package and prepare custom orders for outbound shipping, ensuring accuracy before items leave the facility
- Flag and communicate any discrepancies between the physical order and the Shopify order to the appropriate team member
- Assist with shipping documentation and labelling as required

Requirements

- Basic sewing experience — comfortable with a sewing machine and general hand-sewing
- Experience in a production, garment, or manufacturing environment
- Experience with fabric cutting and material prep
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow specifications closely
- Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable using a computer for basic order review tasks (Shopify training provided)
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Familiarity with Shopify or similar e-commerce platforms preferred
- Some product knowledge or prior experience with outdoor apparel is an asset
- Works well in a team environment and/or independently
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Ability to read, write and speak English

Working Conditions

- Regular hours with potential for additional hours during peak production periods
- The sewing room is located in the basement of a two-story building, no access to an elevator
- Typical office environment
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Standing for long periods of time, bending and reaching
