Job Summary
We are looking for a dependable, hardworking Site Assistant / Construction Labourer to support our Site Supervisors and renovation teams on residential construction sites throughout Calgary.
This is a hands-on, entry-level construction position. Your primary role will be to help the Site Supervisor keep the jobsite clean, safe, organized, and running efficiently. You will assist with general labour, site cleanup, material handling, floor and surface protection, moving and organizing tools and materials, and other tasks as directed by the Site Supervisor.
This is a great opportunity for someone with some basic construction or labour experience who is eager to learn, takes direction well, and wants to develop a long-term career in residential renovation.
This is a labour-focused, on-site position—not an office or administrative role.
Key Responsibilities
General Site Labour & Cleanup
- Assist the Site Supervisor with daily tasks and general labour on residential renovation sites.
- Keep jobsites clean, organized, and safe throughout the day.
- Clean up construction debris and dispose of materials appropriately.
- Maintain and clear sidewalks, driveways, and streets of debris, snow, and ice as required.
- Sweep, vacuum, remove garbage, and perform general site cleanup.
- Help prepare and clean up work areas before, during, and after construction activities.
- Assist with basic construction tasks such as back framing, demolition support, material organization, and other tasks as directed.
- Help trades and subcontractors as required.
Materials, Tools & Site Organization
- Move, carry, stage, and organize construction materials and tools.
- Receive and help unload materials delivered to the jobsite.
- Ensure materials are stored safely and kept organized.
- Help maintain, organize, and safely store tools and equipment.
- Protect materials, finishes, furniture, and other areas of the home from damage.
Floor & Surface Protection
- Install and maintain floor, wall, countertop, and surface protection.
- Help protect completed work and finished areas throughout the renovation.
- Maintain protection and cleanliness as other trades work through the site.
Safety
- Follow all company and regulatory health and safety procedures.
- Wear and properly use required PPE.
- Keep work areas free of hazards and obstructions.
- Report safety concerns, hazards, or damage to the Site Supervisor immediately.
- Work safely around tools, materials, trades, subcontractors, and homeowners.
Team Support & Communication
- Follow the direction of the Site Supervisor and complete assigned tasks efficiently.
- Support trades, subcontractors, and other team members as directed.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with the Site Supervisor and team.
- Ask questions when unsure and seek guidance when needed.
- Take pride in being a reliable and helpful member of the site team.
What We're Looking For Experience & Qualifications
- Some previous construction, renovation, general labour,
landscaping, or similar hands-on experience is an asset.
- Basic understanding of construction sites and common tools is an asset.
- Willingness to learn residential renovation processes and construction skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under the direction of a Site Supervisor.
- Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, carrying, standing, bending, and working on your feet throughout the day.
- Valid driver's license is an asset.
