SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

Full-Time - possibility of travel for outreach follow-up

Hourly rate: $41.20 to $52.49, commensurate with experience The primary goal of the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is to ensure our patients are receiving high quality, person-centered care that aligns with our values of Dignity, Service, Excellence and Integrity. Our Speech-Language Pathologist is well-versed in the management of chronic diseases that relate to communication, cognition, and swallowing in older adults. They SLP perform assessments and implement interventions to help patients re-gain function or compensate for deficits using adaptive strategies.

The therapeutic objective is to enhance the quality of life for our patients by improving communication with their loved ones and strengthening their swallowing to ensure sustained, safe nutrition and hydration. Speech-Language Pathologists work as part of an interprofessional team to support slow-paced rehabilitation programming and serve as consultants to other disciplines.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology, from an accredited university
- Current Certificate of Registration in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).
- Successful completion of the Canadian Entry-to-Practice (CEPT) Exams for Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology, or proof of registration prior to the introduction of
- CEPT requirements (i.e.,



legally exempt or grandfathered in accordance with existing regulations).
- Minimum of three (3) months demonstrated experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a healthcare setting.
- Candidates with experience in a different population or practice setting must
- demonstrate a commitment to continuing education and professional development
- relevant to the role.
- Initial registrants must provide proof of relevant clinical placements.
- Required Training or education in Supportive Conversation for Adults with Aphasia (SCA™)
