Residential Structural Drafter / Design Technician Bravura Engineering is seeking a motivated Residential Structural Drafter / Design Technician to join our team. This position is primarily focused on drafting, with opportunities to assist with structural design under the guidance of experienced engineers. Our company specializes in the structural design of residential buildings, including houses, garages, foundations, floor systems, roof systems, beams, columns, and tall walls.

Responsibilities - Prepare structural drawings and construction details for residential projects.

- Review architectural plans and identify structural requirements.
- Assist with the design of wood, concrete, and steel structural components.
- Perform basic structural calculations under the supervision of an engineer.
- Coordinate drawings with architectural plans, truss layouts, and floor-joist layouts.
- Revise drawings based on engineering reviews, site conditions, and client requests.
- Communicate with engineers, builders, designers, and other team members.
- Help ensure drawings comply with applicable building codes and company standards.
- Maintain accurate project files and meet assigned deadlines.

Qualifications - Diploma or certificate in Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering Technology,



Structural Engineering Technology, or a related field.

- Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting software.
- Ability to read and interpret residential construction drawings.
- Basic understanding of wood-frame construction and residential structural systems.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with the Alberta Building Code is an asset.
- Previous residential drafting or structural design experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
