Duties:

- Supervising, coordinating and scheduling the day-to-day activities of glaziers, glass and mirror installers, and related shop, warehouse and material-handling workers assigned to glazing projects;

- Reviewing purchase orders, specifications, cut lists, dimensions, glass and mirror types, thicknesses, finishes, edge details, quantities and delivery or installation instructions to identify and resolve discrepancies before work is released;

- Developing daily and weekly work plans, establishing methods to meet project schedules, assigning workers and crews, and determining the materials, tools, lifting equipment, vehicles and site-access arrangements required for each job;

- Coordinating shop preparation, product staging, loading, delivery, site access, installation sequencing, deficiency work and project closeout so that work is completed safely, accurately and on time;

- Directing and monitoring the preparation, handling and installation of float, laminated, tempered, patterned, reeded and specialty glass, as well as mirror products, ensuring that the correct materials and methods are used for each order or project;

- Liaising with sales and office staff, customers, contractors, suppliers, delivery personnel, carriers and other project stakeholders to confirm scope, product availability, lead times, schedule changes, site readiness, delivery requirements and completion status;

- Inspecting incoming materials, prepared products and completed work for correct dimensions, type, thickness, finish, quantity, labelling, surface and edge quality, packaging and installation quality; and initiating corrections, remakes or replacement orders when required;

- Resolving work and field problems such as breakage, shortages, incorrect specifications, damaged materials, fit or measurement issues, site conditions, delivery delays and installation conflicts; and recommending and implementing corrective measures to improve productivity, reduce waste and maintain quality;

- Requisitioning and coordinating the purchase of glass, mirror, glazing materials, hardware,



consumables, protective packaging and other supplies;

- Monitoring stock and special-order items and following up with suppliers to prevent project delays;

- Overseeing warehouse flow, glass-rack storage, staging, loading and unloading, and the protected movement of glass and mirror products using forklifts, overhead cranes and boom-truck equipment; and ensuring products and loads are properly protected, secured and documented;

- Planning and coordinating local deliveries and, when required, cross-border shipments by communicating with carriers and customs brokers and verifying shipping, customs and delivery documentation;

- Enforcing company and job-site health and safety procedures, including personal protective equipment, safe glass handling, lifting and rigging practices, equipment pre-use checks, safe vehicle loading, hazard reporting and incident-response requirements;

- Training and coaching employees in job duties, approved work methods, product handling, quality standards, equipment use and safety procedures and company policies; monitoring work performance, attendance and productivity and providing feedback to employees;

- Recommending staffing, training, scheduling and corrective measures to management and participating in personnel decisions such as hirings and promotions within the authority assigned to the supervisory position;

- Preparing and maintaining work schedules, crew assignments, progress reports, inspection and deficiency records, inventory and order-status information, delivery and installation confirmations, and project closeout documentation;

- Providing hands-on technical and operational guidance during complex glass-handling,



loading or installation activities when required, while retaining primary responsibility for supervision, coordination and quality control;

- Maintaining timely communication with customers regarding progress, changes, delays, deficiencies and corrective actions, and confirming that outstanding items are resolved before final project closeout; and

- Cut and break glass and shape flat glass sheets to exact project specifications using hand tools or computerized machinery.

Requirements:

- Completion of secondary school is required.

- Progressive experience in the architectural glass and mirror industry in glazing, installation, or a closely related glass-products work environment, or experience leading and supervising workers in these areas is required.

- Demonstrated knowledge of glass and mirror products, glazing and installation methods, product handling, storage and packaging practices, and common quality and safety requirements.

- Ability to read and interpret purchase orders, work orders, drawings, specifications, cut lists and measurements in both metric and imperial units.

- Experience planning work, assigning employees, coordinating materials and equipment, resolving operational problems, and communicating with customers, suppliers, carriers and contractors.

- Experience with procurement, inventory control, delivery coordination and glass-product supply-chain activities is required.

- Strong organizational, leadership, problem-solving, record-keeping and verbal and written communication skills.

- Forklift operator and overhead crane operator training/certification, or equivalent employer-approved qualifications, are required for hands-on equipment operation.

- 0-8 tonne boom truck operator certificate is required to operate company boom-truck equipment.

- Workplace safety training relevant to glass handling, lifting equipment and construction or customer job sites is required.

Pay: $80,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
