Job Overview

- Full-time, junior-to-intermediate Systems Integration Technician role in a small, multidisciplinary company.

- Reports directly to a manager and begins as a hands-on contributor working from explicit direction.

- The work spans field installation, troubleshooting, light in-house panel assembly, and systems-integration support.

- This is not limited to traditional building automation; the role supports a broader range of systems-integration work.

Primary Responsibilities

- Install, mount, terminate, commission, and troubleshoot low-voltage sensors and related components at customer sites.

- Work safely and professionally in and around control panels and low-voltage wiring.

- Help diagnose and resolve site issues involving sensors, panels, connectivity, and system integration.

- Assemble PLC/control panels in-house, including drilling, mounting, terminations, and other light fabrication.

- Use light hand tools such as a hand drill, screwdrivers, and wire strippers; heavy machining is not part of the role.

- Follow instructions and documentation carefully, while making reasonable assumptions when appropriate.

- Gather and organize questions efficiently so clarifications can be addressed together without unnecessarily interrupting the manager.

- Coordinate clearly with the office team and site-based FMO teams to support smooth work, handoffs, and project progress.

- Take personal ownership of unique or custom projects as opportunities arise.

Required Qualifications

- Hands-on aptitude for low-voltage systems work, including sensor installation, wiring terminations, mounting, and basic troubleshooting.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to complete work accurately from instructions and documentation.

- Comfortable working independently while knowing when to seek clarification.





- Basic familiarity with computer networking concepts, including DHCP and static IP addressing.

- Clear, professional communication and the ability to work well with both on-site and office-based teams.

- Reliable personal vehicle and ability to travel locally within Greater Vancouver.

Preferred Skills/Assets

- Experience with building automation components or adjacent systems-integration work; deep traditional building-automation expertise is not required.

- Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, MQTT, or similar integration/communications protocols.

- Data-oriented technical experience, such as working with CSV files, querying or understanding SQL, light API work, or scripting.

- Comfort learning or using proprietary scripting languages.

- Experience assembling, wiring, or commissioning PLC/control panels.

- Broader technical or multidisciplinary problem-solving experience.

Work Environment

- Mix of in-house/shop work and on-site work at customer locations.

Travel Requirements

- Expected local travel within Greater Vancouver roughly one to two days per week, depending on project needs.

- Travel may include performing installations directly at sites and attending sites to troubleshoot.

- A reliable personal vehicle is important for carrying out the role.

Compensation

- The intended entry point remains junior-to-intermediate, with compensation and responsibility able to grow alongside capability and ownership of the function.

Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
