We are currently hiring for the position of a Team Leader – Hazardous Waste at our Ayr, Ontario location. This is a full-time, permanent role with a comprehensive compensation package that includes:

Primary duties and responsibilities

Hazardous Waste Operations

- Coordinate day-to-day hazardous waste operations, including work scheduling, priorities, workflow, and production activities.
- Ensure hazardous waste is properly identified, segregated, packaged, labelled, stored, processed, and prepared for shipment.




- Monitor work quality, productivity, inventory, and operational requirements.
- Maintain accurate production, inventory, and hazardous waste records.
- Identify operational issues and work with management to implement improvements.

TDG & Regulatory Compliance

- Ensure dangerous goods and hazardous waste shipments comply with applicable TDG and environmental requirements.
- Review and complete manifests, shipping documents, bills of lading, and other required documentation.
- Ensure employees follow established procedures for the handling and transportation of hazardous materials.
- Monitor compliance with applicable regulations, permits, company policies, and operating procedures.
- Assist with corrective actions where compliance issues are identified.

Team Leadership

- Provide day-to-day direction, support, and coaching to employees.
- Assign work and monitor employee performance, productivity, safety, and compliance.
- Assist with employee training, performance evaluations, and corrective action as required.
- Ensure employees understand their responsibilities, procedures, and training requirements.
- Support employee development and continuous improvement.

Health & Safety

- Promote a strong health and safety culture.
- Lead or participate in safety meetings, inspections, hazard assessments, and incident investigations.
- Ensure employees follow secure work procedures and use required PPE.
- Maintain appropriate housekeeping and workplace standards.
- Ensure spill response and emergency procedures are understood and followed.




- Coordinate required workplace monitoring, sampling, and inspections.

Communication & Collaboration

- Communicate operational, safety, production, and compliance information to employees and management.
- Work closely with other departments to coordinate activities and improve operational efficiency.
- Maintain professional working relationships with employees, customers, contractors, and regulatory representatives.

General

- Comply with all applicable legislation, permits, company policies, and procedures.
- Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
