3K Solutions Inc. is a growing telecommunications contractor specializing in fibre optic installation, testing, and network construction.

We are expanding our operations in Ontario and are currently building our field team with a primary focus on St. Catharines and the Niagara Region, with work extending throughout the St. Catharines, Waterloo, Hamilton, and surrounding areas.

No previous fibre optic experience is required. Training is provided.

About the Position

As an Entry-Level Telecommunications Field Technician, you will work as part of a field team installing and servicing fibre optic telecommunications networks.

The position involves hands-on work in residential, multi-unit residential, commercial, and outside-plant environments. Work may take place both indoors and outdoors and will involve a variety of tools, equipment, vehicles, ladders, and elevated work platforms.

You will receive hands-on training from experienced technicians and progressively develop the skills required to perform fibre optic and telecommunications installations independently.

Our current focus is on building our team in St. Catharines, although technicians will work throughout the St. Catharines, Waterloo, Hamilton, and surrounding areas.

As our Ontario operations grow, there may also be opportunities for company-paid travel to other cities and regions throughout Ontario. Travel assignments may involve overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities

- Install fibre optic cable and telecommunications equipment
- Perform fibre optic installations in residential, multi-unit residential, commercial, and outside-plant environments
- Install cable through existing building pathways and surface-mounted pathways
- Perform drilling and install cable pathways where required
- Install fibre termination points, boxes, and related telecommunications equipment
- Route, secure, organize, and label fibre optic cables
- Assist with fibre preparation, termination, splicing, and testing as training progresses
- Assist experienced technicians with fibre testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning
- Read and follow network plans, drawings, and installation instructions
- Perform outside-plant fibre construction and deployment work
- Work from ladders and elevated work platforms when required
- Perform work at heights using appropriate fall-protection equipment and procedures
- Operate bucket vans/aerial lift vehicles when properly trained and authorized
- Operate company vehicles safely and responsibly
- Transport, secure, and maintain company tools, equipment, and materials
- Take care of company vehicles, tools, equipment, and other property
- Report damaged, lost, or malfunctioning equipment promptly
- Take required installation photographs and maintain accurate job documentation
- Complete required daily safety documentation
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Communicate professionally with customers, building management, contractors, and team members
- Follow all company, client, health and safety, and work-site requirements




- Travel between job sites throughout the service area
- Participate in company-paid travel assignments to other Ontario locations when required

- Comfortable working at heights and on ladders
- Willing to work from bucket vans and elevated work platforms after receiving appropriate training
- Able to perform physically demanding work, including standing, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting equipment, and working in various positions
- Comfortable working in occupied residential buildings and around the public
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Comfortable using basic hand and power tools
- Able to follow instructions, procedures, and technical plans
- Professional and respectful when dealing with customers and building residents
- Safety-conscious and willing to follow established procedures
- Responsible with company vehicles, tools, equipment, and property
- Willing to travel between job sites and, when required, to other areas of Ontario

Previous experience is an asset, but not required. Experience in any of the following would be considered an advantage:

- Telecommunications
- Fibre optics
- Outside plant (OSP) construction
- Electrical
- Low-voltage cabling
- Structured cabling
- Data/network cabling
- Construction
- Residential renovations
- General labour
- Satellite or cable installation
- Other hands-on technical work

Training & Career Development This position is designed as an entry point into the telecommunications industry.

Successful candidates will receive hands-on training from experienced technicians and gradually develop skills in:

- Fibre optic installation
- Fibre preparation and termination
- Fibre splicing
- Fibre testing and troubleshooting
- Outside-plant fibre construction
- Multi-unit residential fibre deployments
- Network plans and documentation
- Working at heights and aerial work procedures
- Telecommunications construction practices
- Job-site safety and quality requirements

As your skills and experience develop, there are opportunities to progress into positions such as: Lead Technician → Fibre Technician → Fibre Splicer → Senior/Technical or Supervisory Roles

Requirements

- Valid driver's licence
- Reliable transportation to designated meeting points and/or job sites
- Ability to travel between job sites throughout the St. Catharines, Waterloo, Hamilton and surrounding areas
- Ability to work full-time Monday–Friday, with occasional overtime




- Ability to work at heights and climb ladders
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Willingness to travel outside the local area when required
- Must successfully complete required company and client safety training
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check
- Employment is conditional upon successfully completing required drug and alcohol testing in accordance with company and/or client requirements
- Must maintain a professional and safety-conscious approach while operating company vehicles and working on customer properties

Company Vehicles, Tools & Equipment Employees may be provided with company vehicles, tools, equipment, materials, and other company property.

Employees are expected to:

- Operate company vehicles safely and responsibly
- Follow all company vehicle policies
- Keep company vehicles clean and properly maintained
- Properly secure tools, equipment, and materials
- Take reasonable care to prevent loss, damage, or misuse of company property
- Report damage, loss, mechanical issues, or safety concerns promptly
- Maintain and properly use personal tool list and company tools and equipment
- Treat company property with care and respect
