Language: English Security Clearance: Government of Canada Secret Scope of Work / Tasks We are seeking a Senior Telecommunications Analyst / Network Engineer for a specialized federal consulting chance supporting secure enterprise network infrastructure within a defence environment. The successful consultant will specialize in FIPS-compliant WAN encapsulation technologies and will provide expertise in designing, implementing, validating, securing, and optimizing enterprise-wide transport architectures.
The role will involve
- Designing scalable enterprise WAN architectures using advanced encapsulation technologies.
- Implementing FIPS-validated GRE, MPLS, and IPsec tunnelling protocols.
- Ensuring transport encryption aligns with FIPS 140-2 / 140-3 standards.
- Configuring Layer 3 encapsulation for efficient data transport.
- Integrating approved cryptographic algorithms within encapsulation tunnels.
- Troubleshooting complex encapsulation mismatches, cryptographic errors, and MTU/MSS path issues.
- Conducting configuration audits to support regulatory and security compliance.
- Evaluating and documenting new FIPS-compliant WAN encapsulation technologies.
- Leading implementation of WAN encapsulation technologies.
- Providing technical guidance and mentorship to other resources.
- Supporting enterprise network architecture, validation, and optimization.
- Collaborating with technical teams, stakeholders, and vendors.
The environment includes Cisco WAN Overlay technologies, Cisco SD-WAN, Cisco Catalyst Center/DNAC, Cisco ISE, Cisco Secure Network Analytics, BlueCat LiveNX/LiveWire, Fortra InterMapper, and Cisco routers and switches.
Mandatory
Qualifications M1 Minimum CCNP certification in Routing and Switching. M2 Minimum 10 years of experience within the last 15 years serving as a lead engineer and/or staff mentor for technical projects in a government and/or military environment. M3 Minimum 10 years of experience within the last 15 years designing and validating enterprise networks using MPLS-over-GRE (MPLSoGRE) overlay technology in a Type 1 encryptor environment.
M4 Minimum 5 years of experience within the last 5 years designing and validating end-to-end multicast solutions in an MPLSoGRE Type 1 encryptor network environment. M5 Minimum 15 years of experience within the last 20 years designing, validating, and managing enterprise networks using Cisco network management tools, including:
- CiscoWorks - Cisco Prime LMS - Cisco Prime - Cisco DNAC - Cisco Catalyst Center These are mandatory requirements under the solicitation and supporting documentation for certifications and qualifications is required.
Preferred Qualifications - Extensive Cisco enterprise networking experience.
