- Contribute to multidisciplinary projects of varying sizes in different regions across the province - Conduct traffic and signal coordination studies - Prepare traffic simulation models, analyze traffic patterns, and optimize signal operations - Program traffic signals and select signal heads in collaboration with electrical and lighting experts - Design signal heads in accordance with the practices of the City of Montreal and the Quebec Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility (MTMD) - Determine and integrate vehicle and pedestrian detection systems - Coordinate work with road, municipal, and structural engineering leads, the landscape architect, and other disciplines - Produce complete tender documents incorporating related disciplines - Conduct site visits and field surveys - Monitor construction quality through site visits and participate in construction meetings - Prepare site visit reports and meeting minutes - Analyze the costs of change notices, prepare change notices and construction directives, and provide recommendations to the client - Participate in the interim and final acceptance of the work Requirements - Engineer or technician specializing in traffic and traffic signal systems - 2 to 4 years of experience - Expertise in traffic studies, signal coordination, signal timing sheets, and traffic signal plans and specifications - Experience with roadway lighting, traffic signals, or intelligent transportation systems/telecommunications - Proficiency in Synchro/SimTraffic; knowledge of Vistro is an asset - Basic knowledge of MicroStation and the City of Montreal’s ASFC tools - Interest in traffic signal programming, optimization,



and operations - Ability to independently design and analyze PE and SL plans - Ability to read BC and TC plans - Knowledge of signal timing parameters and the operational characteristics of traffic signals (COFC) - Knowledge of the City of Montreal’s DTNI standards, Families 5 and 6 - Knowledge of MTMD standards and procedures, including Volume V and Chapter 8, “Light Signals” - Knowledge of CSEM structural sheets and their interpretation - Construction/site experience, including signal commissioning, certificates of compliance, signal timing surveys, and controller surveys - Ability to communicate in French, both orally and in writing - Self-motivated, team-oriented, with clear and precise communication skills Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in traffic signal systems, including design, programming, and optimization, while effectively collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and adhering to municipal standards. Proficient in traffic studies and simulation modeling to enhance traffic operations and safety.
