At Fry's Custom Contracting Ltd. we are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our construction team. We are however, willing to train the right individual to be a successful employee as a driver. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting equipment and materials safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies.
This role requires a strong focus on safety, reliability, and customer service, ensuring that deliveries are made on time and in excellent condition.
Duties
- Operate commercial trucks to transport freight to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
- Communicate effectively with Managers, Supervisors and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
- Assist with basic mechanical repairs as needed to ensure vehicle reliability.
- Operate forklifts and heavy equipment when necessary for loading and unloading tasks.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Experience in commercial driving with a robust understanding of freight transportation.
- Knowledge of mechanical repair is a plus for maintaining vehicle performance.
- Familiarity with equipment is preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate in efficient loading and unloading of cargo.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively when required.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members and clients.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by company policy.
