The Calgary Classical Academy is now accepting applications for a Campus Tutor for the 2026/2027 academic year.

Calgary Classical is a charter public school of the Alberta Classical Academy which offers an academically rigorous liberal arts education focused on developing “the knowledge, virtues, and habits befitting free citizens.” Among the school’s distinct features are a smartphone-free setting; its embrace of traditional pedagogy and teacher-led classrooms; a knowledge-rich curriculum centred on classical and enduring works of literature, philosophy, and art; a focus on character and the nurturing of virtues; a culture of friendship and leisure (scholē); and an explicit commitment to the pursuit of truth, beauty, and wisdom.

Position Functions and Responsibilities:

Instructional Support

- Providing instructional support under teacher’s guidance.
- Tracking and reporting student progress
- Diagnostic testing for reporting purposes
- Preparing instructional materials

Teacher Support
- Marking and recording students’ work
- Assisting in the supervision of class work
- Communicating regularly with classroom teachers on student-related instructional issues

Student Support
- Reviewing of grade -appropriate curricular material with students as assigned by the teacher
- Providing additional support to those students as indicated by the teacher(s)




- Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications: Certification from or enrolment in a recognized Tutor program is preferred but not required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience and candidates who demonstrate the following qualities:

- A commitment to the charter and guiding principals of the Academy
- A proven ability to support students in their academic and moral development
- The ability to provide an effective learning environment for students – one with clear, high expectations, and specific, articulated learning goals;
- A supportive and caring manner with children and a belief that all students can learn
- Demonstrates initiative and is solution-oriented
- Willingness to be a leader and to contribute in a positive manner to the entire school community
- A belief in continuous learning and a desire to continuously improve
