REPORTS TO : Snow School Manager
DEPARTMENT : Snow School
POSITION TYPE : Seasonal, Full-Time
WAGE : $22-$24 per hour to start

SCHEDULE : Full time, October through early April (September availability an asset); daily hours between 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM; overtime as needed

POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Snow School Manager supports the Snow School Manager in maintaining high standards and efficiency across the Snow School, overseeing instructors, lesson desk staff, and supervisors while handling a variety of administrative duties and teaching lessons or training sessions.
This role acts as second
-in-command, managing the department in the Snow School Manager's absence.

REQUIREMENTS
Experience & Education
Proven leadership experience in a supervisory or management role.
Significant experience working in various roles within a Snow School is an asset.
Full-time availability from October through early April; September availability is an asset.

Ability to work overtime as needed.

Certifications & Licences
CSIA or CASI Level 2 or higher is an asset.
Experience training instructors is an asset.

Reliable personal transportation required. Our location is not served by public transit and taxi service can be unreliable.

JOB DUTIES

Leadership & Administration

Model and promote Rabbit Hill's core values - Accountability, Innovation, Adaptability, Passion, and Community - through daily actions, leadership, and guest interactions.
Act as second-in-command, managing the Snow School in the absence of the Snow School Manager.




Assist the Manager with scheduling, staff and departmental communications, hiring, onboarding, training, and disciplinary actions.
Prepare daily operational materials to support smooth Snow School operations.

Build positive working relationships across all departments and participate in manager meetings.

Snow School Operations & Training
Oversee and implement instructor training programs.
Ensure the quality and consistency of lessons and activities.
Supervise daily operations and ensure smooth workflow.
Assist the Manager in coordinating and supporting the supervisor team.
Oversee the performance of instructors, lesson desk staff, and supervisors, providing support and guidance.

Facilitate ongoing training and development for instructors, and assist the Manager in developing training materials.

Guest Relations

Address guest inquiries and resolve issues, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience for all Snow School participants.
Listen to guest feedback and assist the manager in implementing improvements based on it.
Develop and maintain strong guest relationships to foster loyalty.
Communicate well with guests regarding lesson plans, schedules, and other information.

Coordinate with other departments to enhance the overall guest experience.

Safety & Compliance
Maintain and promote safety standards throughout the Snow School.
Adhere to and enforce Rabbit Hill policies and procedures; help maintain a safe, secure, and legally compliant work environment.

Report hazards, incidents, or safety concerns to the Snow School Manager promptly.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Physically
Extended periods of standing, riding, walking, manual labor, and engaging with guests/staff.
Exposure to adverse and variable winter weather conditions.
Frequent reaching, kneeling, bending, twisting, pulling, pushing, and lifting.
Working in loud, busy environments with high guest volumes.
High-traffic on-snow areas with the potential for contact with skiers and snowboarders.

Navigating varied terrain, including icy, snowy, hard-packed or wet conditions.
