Job Summary
Join our dynamic Truck and Trailer Shop as a Welder/Fabricator, where you'll be at the forefront of building, repairing, and customizing heavy-duty trucks and trailers. This energetic role offers the opportunity to apply your welding expertise and mechanical skills in a rapid-paced environment. You will work with a variety of tools and techniques to fabricate and repair various truck, trailers and associated equipment .

Duties
- Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and Stick welding to assemble and repair truck frames, trailers, and related components.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication. When available
- Use plasma cutters, air arc, hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to shape and assemble metal parts.
- Safely use a forklift to gather material and position for assembly
- Measure materials with calipers and other precision tools to maintain tolerances.
- Fabricate structural supports, and custom parts for trucks and trailers in accordance with specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area while adhering to safety protocols during manufacturing processes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in welding (MIG and Stick) within a manufacturing or shop setting
- Mechanical knowledge of truck/trailer systems, schematics, and assembly techniques an asset but not required.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, calipers, and schematics reading.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations necessary for measurements and blueprint interpretation.
- Familiarity with operating a forklift safely
- Strong understanding of welding safety standards and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Prior experience in the Transport industry an asset but not necessary
