Job InformationDepartment: Health, Wellness and SciencesCampus: BarrieClassification: Support StaffPosting Date: November 18, 2025Hourly Pay Range: $25.34 – 35.83 per hourHours: Up to 24 hours per weekStatus: Part-Time (Casual)Reporting and ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Director of Clinics & Placements, the incumbent develops, implements and manages unpaid clinical placements for students in Health Sciences programs including but not limited to: Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Practical Nursing (Full Time and Part Time), Personal Support Worker and various Allied Health programs for Barrie, Owen Sound, Muskoka and Orangeville.Specific duties include, but are not limited to:Assisting students in obtaining and being successful in mandatory placements by explaining processes and protocolsRecruiting, and arranging, appropriate placement agencies and maintaining the current agency directoryEvaluating placements to ensure the opportunity aligns with the learning outcomes as designated by the specific programFacilitating the completion of College Student Employer Agreements including WSIBEnsuring documentation and records are current, accurate and organizedCollecting and compiling clinical placement data using a computer databaseCreating and communicating reports/summaries of data as requiredCommunicating with/between partners, students, faculty and employees of partner organizations and Georgian CollegeMaintaining and enhancing partnerships, identifying scheduling or program conflicts and participating in advisory committee meetingsActing as a resource pertaining to student Clinical Preparedness permit for staff, faculty and studentsSupporting all 7 campus locations as neededAll other duties as assigned,



includes but not limited to assignments related to student placementsQualificationsSuccessfully completed a two-year post-secondary diploma in a regulated health profession and a member in valuable standing with the regulatory bodyA minimum of 5 years’ experience in either a health care environment (e.G. hospital, acute mental health, etc.) or health sciences educational settingStrong computer skills using the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)Demonstrated understanding of health agencies/organizations related to appropriate assignment of student Nursing placementsDemonstrated understanding of scope of practice for regulated and unregulated health practitioners in OntarioDemonstrated ability to communicate information in a clear, concise mannerExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain relationships with various stakeholdersMust be self-directed with the ability to work independently and as a team memberProven analytical, critical thinking, decision making, conflict resolution and problem solving skillsDemonstrated planning, coordinating and time management skillsAbility to maintain confidentiality and privacy with thorough understanding of PHIPA and FIPAAccess to private reliable transportation with the ability to travel, as required, to conduct site visits and attend meetingsPrevious experience coordinating student placements within the health care sectorExperience tracking and maintaining data and records within a student placement software / database, preferably Health Sciences Placement Network (HSPnet)Additional InformationThis posting is to develop a candidate pool for the program for future opportunities.
