Wabun Tribal Council is currently accepting applications for the position of
Finance Administrator
at its Timmins office.
Under the direction of the Finance Advisor, the Finance Administrator will help ensure Wabun Tribal Council’s general ledger accounts are kept current and financial records are properly maintained. The successful candidate will also work with Wabun First Nations and their finance departments as required.
Minimum 3-year Accounting Diploma/Degree from a recognized College or University, or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the accounting field
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of finances, budgets and forecasts
Experience working with Indigenous organizations and/or government agencies
Experience and knowledge of a manual accounting system and computerized systems including Adagio and Simply 50
Experience and knowledge of various government funding and criteria
Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability within the working workplace
Criminal References check relevant to the position and ability to be bondable
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure invoices and statements are paid on a timely basis and kept up to date
Ensure invoices and cash receipts are recorded in the financial system on a timely basis
Assist the Finance Advisor with financial matters regarding Wabun Tribal Council when requested
Assist the Finance Advisor with the timely preparation of financial status reports for presentation to the Chiefs and Executive Director for review and approval
