IBM API Connect (APIC) Developer Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain APIs usingIBM API Connect (APIC) and related technologies. Manage thefull API lifecycle : planning, design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and retirement. Configure and manageAPI Gateway policies (security, throttling, rate limiting, transformations, etc.). Integrate APIs with backend systems such asdatabases, SOAP/REST services, and microservices . Ensure compliance withAPI security standards (OAuth 2.0, JWT, TLS, SAML, etc.). Work with DevOps teams to integrate APIs intoCI/CD pipelines . Monitor API usage, troubleshoot performance issues, and optimize for scalability. Document APIs and providedeveloper-friendly portals for external/internal consumers. Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions. Required Skills & Qualifications 3–5 years of hands-on experience withIBM API Connect (APIC) and DataPower Gateway. Strong knowledge ofREST, SOAP, JSON, XML ,



and API design best practices. Proficiency inAPI security protocols (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, LDAP, SAML). Experience inJavaScript , and Node.Js, Java, or Python for backend API development. Familiarity withcloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerized environments (OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker). Knowledge ofCI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps). Solid troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills. Bachelor’s degree inComputer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Preferred Qualifications Experience withmicroservices architecture and event-driven integrations. Exposure toAgile methodologies and DevOps practices.
