Position Summary

The Claims Associate at Walmart Canada plays an key role in supporting inventory accuracy and store profitability by ensuring proper handling of damaged and returned merchandise in accordance with Company guidelines. This role works closely with vendor partners, associates, and customers to secure appropriate credits, maintain inventory control, and support smooth store operations. By combining strong attention to detail with excellent customer service, the Claims Associate helps protect company assets while contributing to a positive shopping and work environment.

What You'll Do

- Handle Damaged and Returned Items: scans damaged and stolen items quickly and correctly to help prevent loss.
- Process Returns and Vendor Requests: prepares returns, vendor requests, recalls, and donation items by completing required paperwork, packing, and shipping on time.
- Keep the Claims Area Protected and Clean: keeps the claims area neat, clean, and protected by following proper lifting, ladder use, and chemical disposal procedures.
- Follow Claims Procedures: follows Company rules for handling damaged and recalled items, keeps claims up to date, and completes required forms for older claims to reduce chargebacks.
- Support Store Programs: completes Customer Value Program (CVP) tasks as assigned and follows current systems and processes.
- Work With Other Teams: provides support to the Office Support Associate and directs Store Delivery Associate when needed.
- Flexibility (Availability/Work Schedule): be open to working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.

- High Task Volume in a Fast-Paced Environment: manages overnight hours effectively and plans accordingly to stay energized and focused; handles a quick-paced workload with efficiency, ensuring large volumes of restocking and recovery are completed accurately and on time.

Physical Demands

- performs physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, bending, and lifting inventory, equipment, or supplies weighing up to 20 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- performs repetitive tasks such as stocking, zoning, and organizing products with attention to detail and consistency to uphold store standards.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts from $18.55.
