The candidate will be responsible for managing and leading business development in some of our largest customer key accounts in Southwestern Ontario and Niagara. The product portfolio includes dry eye prescription and OTC products.TheTherapeutic Specialist – Vision Care for Southwestern Ontario and Niagarais intended to be the face of AbbVie to identified Key Accounts, continuing to build on and develop the long-term customer relationships across the vision care portfolio.Position Overview and Role DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for cultivating relationships with existing customers and expanding awareness and use of focused AbbVie Vision Care products in the Dry Eye portfolio.TheTherapeutic Specialist – Vision Care for Southwestern Ontario and Niagarais responsible for managing sales at the customer and hospital level in accordance with approved marketing plans and company policies, to attain or exceed the sales targets for the assigned territory.Essential skills and abilities include: a high degree of flexibility in adapting to change,



interpersonal and client relationship skills and a positive solution-oriented thinking capability.TheTherapeutic Specialist – Vision Care for Southwestern Ontario and Niagarais the customer expert and manager of the AbbVie commercial relationships with the External Experts.TheTherapeutic Specialist – Vision Care for Southwestern Ontario and Niagarahas and maintains a macro view of customer relationships and works cross-functionally within AbbVie to maximize sales results.TheTherapeutic Specialist – Vision Care for Southwestern Ontario and Niagaraworks closely with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure internal team members understand and effectively execute against the customer strategy and sales expectations.TheTherapeutic Specialist – Vision Care for Southwestern Ontario and Niagaraacts in the best interests of AbbVie, looking for areas of mutual interest to AbbVie and the Key Accounts. TheTherapeutic Specialist – Vision Care for Southwestern Ontario and Niagaraidentifies predictive and responsive opportunities to co‑develop solutions within the Key Accounts.TheTherapeutic Specialist – Vision Care for Southwestern Ontario and Niagaraproactively identifies challenges to effective customer interactions and ensures that the right internal processes are in place to overcome or mitigate them. TheTherapeutic Specialist – Vision Care for Southwestern Ontario and Niagarais the core customer advocate within AbbVie (e.G., identifies customer’s issues, concerns and priorities).TheTherapeutic Specialist – Vision Care for Southwestern Ontario and Niagarabuilds deep and broad engagements within the Key Account’s organization and develops an understanding of their key priorities,



structure and business environment to maximize sales.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for developing trusting relationships with Key accounts and growing those relationships to ensure maximum share of dry eye portfolio.Develop account specific strategies in accordance with AbbVie’s guidelines and values.Collaborate with the AbbVie’s Medical team to optimize product knowledge and business training acumen.Develop comprehensive & strategic business plans to increase market share in the glaucoma and dry eye product portfolio.Conduct regular sales reviews of business territory performance externally and internally.Execute national marketing programs in collaboration with internal cross‑functional teams.Identify new collaboration & growth opportunities within existing Key Accounts, as well as identify new Key Accounts.Proficiently manage overall budget & resource allocation for the territory.Education, Experience & Competencies RequirementsB.A. or B.S. degree or MBA combination of experience and education required.A minimum of 5 years of Sales and/or marketing/or head office operational experience.Experience in Medical Sales is required.A thorough understanding of the institutional/Key Account healthcare sector preferred.Demonstrated track record of achieving and/or exceeding business results.Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.Strong business acumen and self‑starter.Demonstrated leadership capabilities, listening and adaptability skills.Strong presentation and communication skills.Proven ability to effectively communicate cross‑functionally within the company.Ability to effectively communicate with senior leaders both with customers & internally.Candidate must be fluent in English, both verbal and written.Highly collaborative with a customer‑centric mindset.Able to travel up to 50% of the time.AbbVie is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to operating with integrity, driving innovation, transforming lives and serving our community.
