Join Peterborough Regional Health Centre as a Health Safety Officer, addressing Occupational Health compliance and wellness initiatives. This full time temporary position is integral to enhancing workplace safety from now until June 2028.
In collaboration with the Manager of Occupational Health, Safety & Wellness, you will leverage your expertise to support compliance with legislative requirements, create health programs, and perform safety audits. Through effective communication and strategic planning, you’ll work with various stakeholders to elevate health and safety standards organization-wide.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support compliance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Execute safety audits and compliance checks regularly




• Develop training programs to enhance staff safety awareness
• Act as a resource for health and safety committees
• Maintain necessary communications with regulatory bodies
Requirements:
• Degree or certification in Occupational Health and Safety
• Three years of experience in a safety-focused role
• Familiarity with healthcare safety practices and regulations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Commitment to professional development in safety
