National Defence – Canadian Forces Housing AgencyClosing date: June 11, 2026 - 23:59, Pacific TimeSelection process number : 26-DND-EA-CFHA-554509Salary : $80,612 to $87,108Level : AS-04Who can apply : Persons residing in Canada, and Canadian citizens and permanent residents abroad.DutiesThe Chief of Business Operations leads a multidisciplinary team responsible for delivering customer service, financial and administrative support, housing services, front desk operations, maintenance coordination, and complaint resolution. Duties include, but are not limited to:Manage financial services by developing budgets, projections, and local financial plans; analyze performance using financial systems, prepare regular reports, and provide recommendations for improvement.Oversee office operations, including procurement, equipment and supplies, and records management.Monitor and analyze tenant complaints, coordinate with experts, and track resolutions.Collect and validate information, draft proposals, and develop local procedures to support customer-focused housing services.Identify and resolve issues before they become formal complaints, researching and applying approaches as needed.Provide advice on policies, processes, and agreements.Work environmentA brief overview of CFHA: As a Special Operating Agency reporting to the Department of National Defence (DND), CFHA contributes to the quality of life of CAF members and their families through the provision of housing services, and through the responsible and sustainable management of the Department's housing infrastructure.



CFHA has approximately 230 employees at Housing Services Centers across Canada and 150 employees at the Head Office in Ottawa. CFHA Borden is a dynamic team of 11 full-time employees, providing housing services to roughly 675 Canadian Forces families.Positions to be filled1Operational RequirementsWilling and able to travel.You need (essential for the job)Education : Secondary school diploma or employer‑approved alternatives.A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma.An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.Experience :Experience in budget forecasting, analysis and control.Experience leading an initiative such as implementing or improving a procedure, a policy or a business process.Experience dealing with difficult situations.Experience developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with stakeholders.Competencies :Demonstrating integrity and respect.Achieve Results.Mobilize people.Collaborate with partners and stakeholders.Abilities :Ability to manage financial resources.Ability to manage multiple competing priorities with tight deadlines.Ability to communicate effectively in writing.Ability to communicate effectively orally.Personal Suitability :Dependability.Client service orientation.Asset Criteria (may be applied / assessed at a later date)Education Asset : Successful completion of a two‑year post‑secondary program in finance, business or accounting or some other specialty relevant to the position.Experience Asset :Experience working with real property portfolios in support of planning, operations, or other functions.Experience with military personnel.Experience working with a computerized financial management administration system such as Oracle.Significant supervisory experience – supporting and engaging staff, delegating tasks, monitoring performance, coaching and development.Ability Asset :Ability to maintain attention to detail under pressure.Our commitmentWe are committed to providing an inclusive and barrier‑free work environment.
