OverviewOur client is a growing and well-established Managing General Agent (MGA) specializing in commercial insurance solutions across Canada. They are seeking a Commercial Lines Underwriter to join their underwriting team, with a focus on complex commercial transportation risks, broker relationships, and a collaborative, growth-oriented environment. The successful candidate will receive mentorship from experienced industry leaders and gain exposure to specialized transportation and captive insurance programs.ResponsibilitiesUnderwrite and manage a portfolio of medium to large commercial transportation and fleet accountsEvaluate and quote new business, renewals, endorsements, and policy changesAnalyze risk exposures and make underwriting decisions within delegated authority levelsNegotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with broker partnersBuild and maintain strong relationships with brokers and key stakeholdersSupport profitable portfolio growth through sound underwriting practicesProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior underwriting staffAssist with the ongoing development and enhancement of underwriting guidelines, processes, and workflowsCollaborate with claims, operations, and leadership teams to ensure exceptional service deliveryRepresent the organization at broker meetings, industry events,
