The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) is seeking a energetic and professional Advisor to work in their Registration & Membership Services Department. Advisors are a critical part of the team, they act as the information and communication center for applicants, members, and stakeholders. They provide guidance relating to College policies surrounding practice management and registration, Ontario regulations governing licensure, various legislative acts, and other organizational processes across the division. Advisors are also responsible for conducting preliminary assessments of physician credentials to determine licensure eligibility.ResponsibilitiesResponds to membership and registration inquiries by telephone or in writing from physicians, applicants, medical schools and other stakeholdersProvides physician advisory services pertaining to practice management related matters by clarifying health care regulations, policies, and guidelinesConducts preliminary assessments of qualifications to determine eligibility for College registration, including change of scope and re-entry requirementsDrafts written correspondence to physicians and applicants outlining applicable registration options, while referencing regulations and registration policiesGenerates customized application packages for eligible physiciansScreens physician member profiles to identify alerts and registration historyOffers information on membership services such as Medicine Professional Corporations, Certificates of Professional Conduct (CPCs), resignations, and other service requestsFacilitates information sessions for internal and external stakeholdersMaintains correspondence templates, resource documents and internal reference guides to align with current processes and proceduresPerforms added duties and assists other department units where requiredQualificationsRelevant post-secondary education and/or equivalent working experienceHigh degree of professionalism, initiative,



self-motivation and independence in carrying out tasksExperience working in a regulatory environment would be considered an assetExcellent client service and communication skills, both oral and writtenExcellent organization and time-management skillsProven ability to multi-task, problem solve and manage heavy volumes of detail-oriented workExcellent autonomy skills, diplomacy and resourcefulnessFlexible attitude; able to adapt to changeand thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environmentProficient computer and typing skills with proficiency in Office365Knowledge of Healthcare Legislation, including CPSO regulations and policies, with the ability to interpret and apply information effectivelyKnowledge of other College functions including complaints, discipline, quality management, an assetFlexibility to work overtime during peak periods and perform special assignments/duties as assignedAn understanding of equity, diversity and inclusion principles and their applicationsFluency in French, an assetPlease note that vacation is not permitted from June 1 to July 15.Application Procedure: Qualified candidates please submit a cover letter and resume by January 3, 2025.If you recently applied for this role, please note that we are still reviewing applications.
