Position OverviewOur Fleet Department is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of approximately 225 vehicles, including Public Works, Fire/Rescue, and other specialized vehicles. This role involves commercial transport and heavy‑duty mechanical work at the journeyman level, with responsibilities in maintenance, repair, and overhaul in both the shop and the field.DescriptionResponsibilities include maintaining, repairing, and overhauling diesel and gas engines, transmissions with electronic control, and managing air brake, electrical, and electronic systems. The candidate will also perform welding and small‑scale fabrication as required.QualificationsProficiency in diesel and gas engine maintenance, repair,
and overhaul; knowledge of electronicsystems.Minimum 5 years of relevant experience; must own hand tools.Experience in welding and small‑scale fabrication is an asset.High school completion and Interprovincial Red Seal / Trades Qualification for BC as a Commercial Transport, Truck & Transport, or Heavy Duty Mechanic.Commercial Vehicle Inspection Certificate preferred.Valid Class 3 BC Driver’s License with Air Endorsement; otherwise must obtain within 6 months of appointment.Salary$53.34 per hour ($111,326.98 annualized, 2026 rates) plus $1.25 per hour shift differential, tool allowance, and an extended benefits package including pension.Hours of WorkMonday to Friday, 6:00 a.M.–2:30 p.M. and 2:00 p.M.–10:30 p.M.; some Fridays from10:00 a.M.–7:00 p.M. on a 2‑week rotation.#J-18808-Ljbffr
