This position is responsible for maintenance and repair work on equipment as directed by the supervisor which can include the boiler plant, chiller plant, water treatment plant and the facility as regulations permit. The operator oversees all energy production during working hours and is responsible for maintaining constant production from the plant to the entire facility, following the Nova Scotia Boiler & Pressure Equipment Regulations. In special circumstances where approved, this position may be required to temporarily perform duties of a position with a higher‑class or lower‑class Power Engineer license to ensure coverage. Travel within the zone or other zones as needed.
