Position SummaryApplications are invited from qualified individuals to instruct in the Practical Nursing Diploma program at North Island College. This instructional assignment, up to 100%, involves teaching the course PNS 247: Consolidated Practice Experience 4 to PN students via face‑to‑face delivery within a Comox Valley and Campbell River practice agency. The annual salary range is $70,437–$112,872 at 100% appointment. Students will experience a variety of practice settings, requiring reliable transportation and occasional travel.The successful candidate will implement creative strategies in preparation and delivery of practice activities, use initiative to document student progress, facilitate conflict management, and schedule flexibly to meet program needs.Duties & ResponsibilitiesInstructionalPlan and prepare learning materials for instructional environments.Use a variety of approaches and materials to address different learning needs.Teach assigned subject areas, including all required content in courses and outlines.Direct student learning in a positive, supportive, and caring environment.Be available to students during office hours and classroom hours to discuss progress.Clearly communicate learning outcomes and evaluation methods.Design and conduct student evaluations, keeping students informed of progress.Submit grades promptly in accordance with policy.Maintain accurate records of enrollment, achievement, and other required documents.Typical Professional Duties of Instructional FacultyWork within college educational policies and strategic plans.Advise the Department Chair on inventory, enrollment management,



and health & safety concerns.Demonstrate knowledge of computer applications relevant to teaching.Maintain continuous professional development of competencies.Participate actively in college committees, department meetings, and community activities.Undertake other related responsibilities as assigned when course load permits.Required Education & ExperienceA current practicing license as an LPN, NP, RN, or RPN with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives. Faculty without a BCCNM license may be considered if they have equivalent education and experience.Adult education credential from an accredited post‑secondary institution, such as a Provincial Instructor Diploma (PID) or an equivalent formal education.
