Director, Operations ServicesThe Halifax Regional Centre for Education (HRCE) is the largest Centre for Education in Atlantic Canada serving more than 60,000 students across 136 schools. The Director, Operations Services leads the Operations Department overseeing school transportation, maintenance, custodial services, and capital planning & delivery. The Director manages partnerships, legal contracts, compliance, and the operations budget, supporting school improvement in collaboration with senior management.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership to ensure a school‑focused model of service delivery and effective resource use.Implement, communicate, and evaluate policies, procedures, and guidelines.Ensure compliance with provincial, federal, and local regulations governing operations services.Develop priorities and business case documents for capital construction and renovation projects.Lead capital planning processes pursuant to the Education Act and School Boundary Review Policy.Lead custodial and maintenance teams to enhance facility management.Oversee pupil transportation contract administration.Implement efficiency measures for utilities and overall capital asset maintenance.Manage the annual operating budget and financial resources.Build partnerships with contractors, consultants, and third‑party suppliers.Participate in recruitment, staffing, and labour‑relations processes.Drive performance evaluation and career development for all staff.Support Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)
