Position OverviewProvide leadership and strategic direction for the Health and Family Services programs of Curve Lake First Nation, assist the Executive Director in statutory, operational and advisory duties, manage financial budgets and expenditures, and direct the health and family services team and programs in accordance with administrative policies and procedures established by Chief and Council.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic leadership for Health and Family Services programs.Assist the Executive Director with statutory, operational and advisory duties.Manage and report on financial budgets and expenditures of the Health and Family Services Department.Direct the health and family services team and programs with administrative policies and procedures.Administer the approved current budget, approve accounts payable, purchase orders, payroll documents for department staff.Oversee procurement processes, examine tender proposals, and recommend actions to the Executive Director.Develop and maintain documentation for funding agencies and submit documentation to Finance Manager and Administrative Services.Evaluate employee performance of managers and direct reports; recommend employment, promotion, disciplining and termination decisions.Monitor government policies and legislation; recommend policy positions on issues of import to the First Nation.Liaise with Federal,
Provincial and Regional health and family services agencies to represent the First Nation’s relations on behalf of the Executive Director.Research and prepare statistical, financial, policy and other reports as required by the Executive Director.Ensure adherence to Occupational Health and Safety procedures; attend council meetingsand support the Health and Family Services committee.QualificationsUndergraduate degree or diploma in Health Administration, Social Work or related field.3-5 years management experience in health and family services.Knowledge of delivery of health and family services.Understanding of federal, provincial and regional policies, programs, services and procedures at the Federal, Provincial and Regional levels.High sensitivity to issues impacting the First Nation.High level computer skills and analytical, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.Bondable and able to work with discretion.Personal SuitabilityHonest, trustworthy, respectful.Awareness and sensitivity to the history, language, culture and traditions of the people of Curve Lake First Nation.Flexible, sound work ethics, high level of personal and qualified conduct.CompensationAnnual salary range: $79,815 to $86,910 based on a 39.5 hour work week.#J-18808-Ljbffr
