SpinUp provides early-stage life science startups with affordable access to coworking lab and office spaces, infrastructure, equipment, and programming, while creating experiential learning opportunities for UTM students, and research partnerships for UTM researchers.The SpinUp Program Coordinator will perform an essential role by working under the direction of the Director, Partnerships and Innovation to provide day-to-day support for resident startups; liaise with partners and collaborators; organize and deliver entrepreneurship programming and events; promote SpinUp; and assist in recruitment of new members and partners. In performing these tasks, it is essential that the Coordinator consistently demonstrate significant tact, collegiality, discretion, and team-oriented skills during interactions with both internal and external stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesAdvising on communication strategies to support goals and prioritiesBuilding and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importanceCoordinating meeting schedules, agendas, materials, action and follow-up itemsAdvising on the patentability of commercially applicable aspects of inventionsDelivering presentations to promote programs,



opportunities and/or initiativesConsulting with clients regarding the development of project scope and resourcesDetermining logistical details and activities for events and/or programmingServing as a resource to others by providing (non-supervisory) administrative guidanceEssential QualificationsBachelor 's Degree in chemistry, the life sciences, or related field is required or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.Minimum four years of related experience.Experience working in a research wet laboratory environment.Experience working in an entrepreneurship setting.Ability to work well with numerous partners, and in a team setting.Experience coordinating projects and managing events.Excellent organizational, time management and professional presentation skills.Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and social media platforms.Assets (Nonessential)Graduate degree in chemistry, the life sciences, or related field (MSc, PhD).Experience working with entrepreneurs within a post-secondary environment.Experience working in a startup accelerator or incubator.Knowledge of laboratory safety policies and procedures.To be successful in this role you will beAchievement orientedAdaptableCooperativeDiplomaticResourcefulTactfulTeam playerClosingClosing Date:06/14/2026, 11:59PM ETEmployee Group:USWAppointment Type:Budget - ContinuingSchedule:Full-TimePay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:USW Pay Band 11 -- $76,577 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $97,928.
