SUMMARY OF THE POSITION Person who drives an automobile and has the legally required license to do so. SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS: - Supervise the loading and unloading of passengers (including handicapped passengers) into adaptive vehicle; - Transport passengers (including handicapped passengers) inside and outside of the facility to designated areas in a punctual and timely manner; - Guide passengers to the appropriate seat and monitor their behavior; - Operate adaptive vehicle and equipment such as the hydraulic lift; - Complete the mechanical inspection sheet, report any inconsistencies or repair; - Ensure safety by applying security and driving rules; - Responsible for the cleanliness of the vehicle and ensure comfort of the passengers; - Plan routes in advance to minimize the number of stops and maximize fuel efficiency; - Ensure that passengers arrive at their destinations on time and help them settle into their facilities. REQUIREMENTS Education:



- High school diploma; - Valid driver’s permitclass 4A meeting the standards of the Société d'assurance automobile du Québec and the Ministère des Transports du Québec. Experience: - Excellent driving record: Driving Record Request (SAAQ clic online Services - Citizens). Knowledge and Abilities: - Ability to operate the vehicle; - Excellent knowledge of passenger transportation, safety and defensive driving; - Knowledge of appropriate community or city routes and locations; - Excellent knowledge of Cree culture and language for drivers in communities; - Excellent interpersonal and listening communication, and teamwork skills; - Warehouse experience,heavy lifting; - Autonomous, flexible and discrete; - Observation skills; - Customer service clientele skills; - Empathy, courtesy, patience and resourcefulness; - Must be able to speakin a explicit voice that all passengers can hear and understand instructions. Language: - Fluent in Cree and English; - Fluency in French is an asset. Other: - Occasional after hours’ availability.
