About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Chemical Process Development Engineer to join their innovative R&D; team in Kimberley . This role is crucial for bridging the gap between laboratory discoveries and industrial-scale manufacturing. You will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and scaling up new chemical processes, ensuring they are safe, efficient, and economically viable. This position offers a dynamic environment where you can apply your technical expertise to bring current chemical products and technologies to market, working closely with chemists, engineers, and production teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the development of new chemical processes from bench scale through pilot plant to commercial scale.
- Optimize existing processes to improve yield, reduce costs, and enhance sustainability.
- Conduct thorough process characterization studies, including kinetic and thermodynamic analysis.
- Design and execute experiments to evaluate process parameters and identify critical control points.
- Prepare detailed process documentation, including PFDs, P&IDs;, and operating procedures.




- Collaborate with research scientists and manufacturing personnel to ensure seamless technology transfer.

Requirements

- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in process development and scale-up within the chemical industry.
- Strong knowledge of reaction engineering, separations, and process simulation tools.
- Proficiency in experimental design and statistical analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
