Join the Blue Mountain Wilde School as an Outdoor Educator and inspire students through experiential learning. This role supports grades Kindergarten to 8 and adapts lessons to an outdoor learning environment.
BMWS focuses on outdoor education and leadership development in the Blue Mountains, Ontario. As a supply teacher, you will inspire curiosity in a class of approximately 12 students by following plans set by the homeroom teacher. Flexibility is essential, as you may receive short notice for workdays, needing to thrive in outdoor settings regardless of weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach classes for Kindergarten to Grade 8 students
• Follow supply plans from the homeroom teacher
• Adapt lessons for outdoor education settings
• Foster a positive and engaging learning atmosphere
• Manage classroom dynamics and student needs
Requirements:
• OCT qualifications in positive standing
• Experience teaching various grades outdoors
• Knowledge of the Ontario curriculum
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
• Wilderness First-aid is an asset
