Duties are performed within established guidelines but independent action and initiative is exercised on individual aspects of the programs. Work is performed under general supervision and is evaluated by a supervisor in terms of effectiveness of instruction, services provided and conformance to established practices.Key ResponsibilitiesInstructs, facilitates and participates with the individual program delivery for a variety of recreation programs, and services within established standards and guidelines.Prepares individual program plans for review by a supervisor for assigned recreation programs and services.Provides referrals to community resources within established guidelines.Represents the Department and the City in a positive,



skilled and customer friendly manner.Sets up equipment necessary for assigned programs and service and stores equipment safely following the end of a program or service.Maintain routine records, reports and enters program data.Drafts promotional material for review and approval by a supervisor.Provides direction and instruction to other members of the work unit and/or program contractors and aids others in the department.Enforces rules and regulations and ensures required standards of behavior and safety in accordance with established policies and procedures.Performs other related duties as required.QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent (GED)6 months full time equivalent experience working with Youth in a recreation or related settingNon-Violent Crisis Intervention training (minimum 8 hours)Minimum of two post‑secondary courses related to Youth programs and servicesStandard First AidFood SafeClass 4 Drivers LicenseShift AvailabilityFridays 3:45-8:15 pmSaturdays 3:45-9:15 pmBenefitsAn hourly starting wage of $27.49 (2025 rate of pay)We are a living wage employerTo be considered for this position, all certifications and licenses need to be uploaded with your resume and cover letter.
